Stupid Never Dies, the debut game by GPTRACK50, has locked in a release date. This it the action-RPG where a zombie attempts to save a frozen human by fighting through monsters and modifying his bodies to be stronger monsters that was announced last year.
GPTRACK50 has entered a co-publishing agreement with Sega, which will see Sega overseeing the distribution of Stupid Never Dies worldwide.
The new release date trailer just showcases another (affectionately) weird character in a growing cast of weird characters: Phoenix Zaza Hotfeathers. You can totally see why he’s called Hotfeathers, and if those dance moves and face expression is any indication and we’re operating on nominative determinism rules here, he sure had hit some of that zaza.
In Stupid Never Dies, players take on the role of Davy the zombie, who’s infatuated by the frozen human Julia and determined to save her. So off he goes into limited-time dungeon runs where he gets to grow stronger, eat other monsters to himself into them and get access to new movesets, and do whatever it takes to get his chance to score a girlfriend.
GPTRACK50 is founded by ex-Capcom developers based in Osaka, led by Hiroyuki Kobayashi. The company was originally established under NetEase during the gaming investment and acquisition boom of the early 2020s.
Stupid Never Dies launches on October 22 for the PS5 and PC (Steam).
