The next best thing to a new Capcom VS SNK (or SNK VS Capcom) will be headed to Street Fighter 6. At Summer Game Fest 2024 Capcom dropped a teaser revealed the next four fighters to join the roster in Year 2.
The Year 2 DLC characters, in order of release window, are:
- M. Bison – Summer 2024
- Terry – Autumn 2024
- Mai – Winter 2025
- Elena – Spring 2025
Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui of Fatal Fury fame, and previous fighters in the CVS/SVC crossover games, will be heading to Street Fighter 6. These are the first guest characters to appear in a mainline Street Fighter.
Like all previous DLC fighters, we should expect Terry and Mai to interact with the player avatar in World Tour mode. It would be nice to see ol’ Terry asks players if they are okay, following it up with a Buster Wolf attack, which players can incorporate into their own moveset.
Terry will be appearing in the upcoming Fatal Fury game, Fatal Fury City Of The Wolves. Mai has yet to be confirmed to join this game’s roster, though she also has appeared as a guest in Dead Or Alive 5 Last Round and Dead Or Alive 6.
Also, the Dictator returns! SF6 players have spotted hints of a possible arrival of the Shadaloo leader, but some may not have expected him to be added this early. A teaser of him in in-game render appears in the trailer, unlike the rest of the characters which are teased in animation form.
Elena, the Street Fighter III New Generation debutant last seen in Ultra Street Fighter IV, will arrive next year to close Year 2.
Street Fighter 6 previously added Rashid, A.K.I., Ed and Akuma as part of Year 1, all revealed in one go. Usually fighting games tease the next DLC character and let fans speculate who gets the nod, but not with SF6 it seems.
Street Fighter 6 is out now on PS4, PS5, PC (Steam) and Xbox Series X|S. Check out our review of the game here.
