Street Fighter 6 Character Reveals Begin With Guile

Here comes another challenger. After the big reveal at this month’s State Of Play, Capcom is going all out in its marketing teaser for the upcoming Street Fighter 6.

The upcoming fighting game got the honours of opening the Summer Game Fest 2022 show by being the first trailer of many to get showcased, and that trailer is the official reveal of another returning world warrior: Guile.

The US Air Force pilot has now helped destroy Shadaloo avenged his friend Charlie Nash, and is off to another mission. Guile kept his iconic hairdo but ditched the shades and formal military getup of SFV and comes with a beard and a one-suit overall for his older, post-Street Fighter III look.

Also, the Capcom Blog describes Guile as a Chad, interestingly enough.

As for his moveset, Guile looks to be the same charge character as he is supposed to be, with many of his tools and moves from SFV returning. You can still throw a barrage of Sonic Booms and Flash Kicks to keep opponents at a distance. The Solid Puncher is now a Super Art instead of a V-Trigger, which allows Guile to throw more but smaller Sonic Boom projectiles with just button presses.

We also got a look at another stage, presumably Guile’s, which seems to be set on an aircraft carrier, with a jet plane and various sailors and military personnel onlooking at the fights.

Guile is the fifth character to be officially revealed so far coming to Street Fighter 6, joining Ryu, Chun-Li, Luke and Jamie.

Street Fighter 6 will be out on PS4, PS5, PC (Steam), and Xbox Series X|S sometime in 2023.
