Split Fiction Sold More Than 4 Million Copies

If Split Fiction is a book, it could have the bestseller label now that the video game has sold more than 4 million copies.

Developer Hazelight announced the sales milestone, achieved in just about two months since launch. The game sold its first million copies in its first two days of release.

Split Fiction is Hazelight’s latest mandatory co-op action platformer. The premise this is two aspiring writers, Mio and Zoe, is somehow trapped in a simulation that turns their novel ideas into reality through the power of a exploitative corporation and must escape.

Hazelight may be an independent developer, but their games are published by EA under the EA Originals label.

Split Fiction shows there’s plenty of fun and new ideas to be explored in the context of two-player co-op games, using fascinating mechanics and gimmicks to excite and delight the pair of players. Check out our review of the game here.

Split Fiction is out now on PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, EA App) and Xbox Series X|S.
