Sony Interactive Entertainment is back again teasing its upcoming next-gen VR headset for PS5, the PS VR2.
They have now shared the first look of the actual headpiece you’ll be strapping on, as well as a “final design image” of the PS VR2 Sense controller which was teased earlier before.
It’s no surprise that the whole set shares the same white and curvy aesthetic of the base PS5. The headset itself retains the adjustable headband design made for easy setup and accommodating various head sizes. The adjustable scope and placement of the audio jack remain similar to the old PS VR. Though the new headset is slightly lighter and slimmer.
As for new tricks, the PS VR2 headset now has a lens adjustment dial (to adjust lens distance between the eyes), built-in motors for feedback (vibration support) and a vent seen from the top of the headset to let air out.
As for the revised Sense controller, it’s now in white, to match the whole look of a default, unswapped face plate of a PS5. And it will feature textures made of tiny PlayStation symbols just like on the PS5 DualSense controller.
PS VR2 has no release date yet, but promises to bring 4K HDR, inside-out tracking and a new feedback system all in the single-cord headset setups. Dev kits have now been shipped to developers, so games are being made for this headset.
