Slayers X Is A Boomer Shooter Starring Hypnospace Outlaw’s Fan-Favourite Edgelord

Here’s something unexpected, but has been hinted at a lot for those in the know. Publisher No More Robots revealed the follow-up to developer Tendershoot’s internet sim Hypnospace Outlaw, but there’s also a new retro FPS with ties to the Hypnospace Outlaw universe, Slayers X.

During the Hypnospace Next video that was revealing the Hypnospace Outlaw sequel Dreamsettler, someone hacked into the stream to reveal the boomer shooter Slayers X.

Slayers X, or its full title Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer is created by the fan-favourite character as seen in Hypnospace Outlaw, Zane Lofton, or his new handle ZANE_ROCKS_36, or the developer name Big Z Studios Inc. Turns out he’s still around today, is now 37 years old, uses Twitter and still a tryhard edgelord just like he was in his teens. It was not a phase, then.

And he’s now finishing the game that first started developed back in the ’90s.

The whole Steam page is written in character, and it’s purposely one mess of a page with typos and flaming gifs galore.

Slayers X stars the loveable edgelord in his journey to take down the Psyko Syndicate. The game will feature at least seven weapons, a sewer level and music by Seepage and Psyko Syndicate, the former is an established, in-universe punk band popular in the Hypnospace Outlaw version of the ’90s.

Slayers X is coming soon to PC and consoles.
