Frontier Foundry has announced that they are working on a Warhammer 40K game. Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters, developed by Complex Games, is billed as a “fast-paced turn-based tactical RPG”.
The teaser trailer gives you a glimpse of who you will be playing as the Grey Knights. Yes, it’s another Space Marine chapter but at least it’s not the usual Ultramarines that gets the spotlight.
The Grey Knights are fighting a galaxy-wide battle against a plot to infect the worlds with a cosmic plague.
The story for Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters is being penned by New York Times bestselling author, Aaron Dembski-Bowden.
Back in 1998, there was a game called Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate, which is also a turn-based title. How much connection other than a shared name and a similar genre has yet to be revealed.
Frontier Foundry is also cooking up another game based on another Games Workshop IP, an RTS based on Warhammer: Age Of Sigmar. So you can expect even more grimdark games coming in the future.
