Shadow Arena Is A Multiplayer Arena Combat Game Set In The World Of Black Desert, Global Beta Test Starts February 27th

Pearl Abyss, the makers of Black Desert, has revealed a new spin-off game, Shadow Arena. Billed as a multiplayer arena combat game set in the world of Black Desert, the game is going to have a beta test open for all.

Shadow Arena should look familiar to players of the MMORPG, with the action-heavy combat being front and center. It also has battle royale elements: It’s a 40-player match where last person standing wins, and you need to level up by gaining better gear and defeat monsters.

The game includes solo and team modes, a practice mode and private matches from the get-go.

You play as nine pre-determined characters in Shadow Arena each with different fighting styles, the list includes:

  • Jordine Ducas
  • Ahon Kirus
  • Yeonhwa
  • Gerhard Shultz
  • Haru
  • Herawen
  • Goyen
  • Orwen
  • Badal the Golden

Shadow Arena will have a global test on Steam starting February 27th. If you like to jump in, sign-ups for the beta can be found here, and is open until February 24th.

Also, Shadow Arena will be supporting these languages. Props on Pearl Abyss for the extensive localisation efforts:

  • Korean
  • English
  • Russian
  • French
  • German
  • Spanish
  • Japanese
  • Polish
  • Portuguese
  • Traditional Chinese
  • Simplified Chinese

Shadow Arena will be out in the first half of 2020 on PC (including Steam), with plans to release on consoles in the future.
