Saints Row Reboot Delayed To August 2022

Volition announced that the upcoming reboot to Saint’s Row, simply titled Saints Row, will be delayed from its initial February 25, 2022 release date. Instead, it is now set for release six months later on August 23.

“The team just need more time to do our vision justice; we’re doing some fine tuning and there won’t be much change in the game outside of overall quality and polish,” said Volition CCO Jim Boone addressing the delay news.

As usual, the impacts of the ongoing pandemic is cited as a reason for the delay, as the team needed more time for polishing.

There will be no changes to the story or characters being made due to this delay.

Saints Row (2022) was first revealed back at Gamescom 2021’s Opening Night Live. The game will feature a new rendition of The Third Street Saints gang in the new locale of Santo Ileso, featuring brand-new characters, led by the customisable player character The Boss.

The very different tone and look to the open-world gangster action game has fans currently worried. But we’ll see if the new reboot for Saints Row is the reimagined the series needed or another Agents Of Mayhem situation when Saints Row (2022) releases on the PS4, PS5, PC (Epic Games Store), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on August 23, 2022.
