Romeo Is A Dead Man Releases In February 2026

Set your date for the next Grasshopper Manufacture ride, as Romeo Is A Dead Man now has a release date.

The new release date trailer, as revealed during the Grasshopper Manufacture Direct on December 5th, shows some cinematic cutscenes featuring the Dead Man previously known as Romeo Stargazer, as well as, yes, Juliet.

“Now we’ve won our game of chicken against *cough* a certain twice-delayed 2026 release, we can reveal our cards and confirm we never intended to launch in May in the first place,” said Executive Director/Scenario Writer/Producer, Grasshopper Manufacture, Goichi ‘Suda51’ Suda, hinting at likely GTA VI. “We’re warping space-time to put the finishing touches to Romeo Is A Dead Man ahead of its launch next February.”

Romeo Is A Dead Man sees FBI Space-Time special agent Romeo Stargazer donning the DeadGear and becoming a Dead Man. And so he is tasked with hunting fugitives across the shattered space-time continuum. Does that make any sense? Not really. Does it all sound cool as heck and enable some close-range combat as well as gunplay? Yes. Does it have that punk energy that is emblematic of Suda51’s worldbuilding and gameplay design? Hell yeah.

Curiously, Romeo Is A Dead Man will be self-published by Grasshopper Manufacture themselves, a first for the studio. Grasshopper is currently owned by NetEase Games, and it was NetEase that published the recent Shadow Of The Damned Hella Remastered, the most recent Grasshopper release. So it’s an interesting to see the developer decided to self-publish for the first time.

Romeo Is A Dead Man will be out on February 11, 2026 for the PS5, PC (Steam) and Xbox Series X|S.
