Rollerdrome Is Priced Cheaper For The First Two Weeks Of Launch

Private Division announced that the second Roll7 game for this year, Rollerdrome, will have an introductory price for nearly the first two weeks of launch- from August 16 to August 29.

The base price for the single-player, third-person roller-skating shooter in Malaysia is RM98 for PS4 and PS5, and RM129 on PC via Steam.

The introductory price slashes the price on PlayStation to RM85.14 if you have an active PS Plus subscription.

This introductory price also applies to the PC version on Steam.

It’s an oddly specific number, but that’s the adjusted price for Malaysia equivalent to $19.79 USD. 1979 refers to Rollerdrome’s choice of aesthetic, which evokes a retrofuture look from the 70’s. With comic-book-esque visuals. And darksynth music as its OST.

In addition, those subscribed to the top tier of PS Plus, PS Plus Premium/Deluxe, will get to experience Rollerdrome at launch as part of Game Trials.

Not only that, but we also got a new dev diary video for Rollerdrome. The team at Roll7 discusses how hard it is to make the dope few seconds of gameplay plays as fun, designing non-linear levels (as compared to the OlliOlli games they did before, which are tightly scripted in how players can move around), and figuring out how to balance roller-blading with gunplay.

Mechanics-wise, we see Reflex Time, Rollerdrome’s version of bullet time (it functions like a PlatinumGames character action game whereby it’s triggered via perfect dodges) and the confirmation of mission objectives are a thing (kill enemies while wall riding, for example).

Rollerdrome will be strapped on the skates with guns akimbo when it releases on August 16 for the PS4, PS5 and PC (Steam).

UPDATE 14/07/22: The initial post missed that the introductory price also applies to the PC version as well, and has been corrected to make mention of it.
