ROG Zephyrus S GX701 Continues To Be Slim, Equipped With Nvidia RTX And Available In Malaysia

Wider, but still slim

ASUS ROG continues to refresh their Zephyrus slim gaming laptop line for 2019. The ROG Zephyrus S GX701is the first to feature an Nvidia RTX graphics card and also use a 17.3-inch screen, compared to the previous models which have 15.6 screens.

While this Zephyrus is wider than before, the slim gaming laptop is only 18.7mm thin, the thinnest 17-inch laptop right now. At its highest variant, the GX701G-XEV062VT is an absolute beast specs-wise. Have a look:

  • CPU: Intel Core i7-8730H
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 20180 Max-Q, 8GB GDDR6
  • RAM: 24GB DDR4
  • Storage: 1TB M.2 SSD

The Zephyrus S GX701 features bezels so slim they are bundling an external web camera, a 17.3-inch144Hz 1080p screen with Nvidia G-Sync, a touchpad that can also turn into a numpad and RGB lighting on the keyboard. Each key can be lighted individually, rather than just designated zones.

Like previous Zephyrus models, it has the same mechanism that expands the laptop’s thickness for air venting purposes, though not as pronounced. It still has the keyboard all tucked to the bottom edge to leave room for small holes for ventilation up top.

The price for the highest variant of the Zephyrus S GX701 is a whopping RM13,999. The price you pay is also bundled with a backpack, mouse and the external web camera, the ROG GC21, worth RM899.

If money is not an obstacle, the ROG Zephyrus S GX701 looks like a beast that can handle any AAA games at the highest of settings for years to come. It is now available for purchase in Malaysia.
