At E3 2018, Remedy announced their new game, Control. The makers of Max Payne, Alan Wake and Quantum Break continues to make third-person shooters, but with Control, it embraces more on the supernatural.
Game Informer has been dropping some exclusive info as part of their monthly cover story and one tidbit they learned is the release window. Control will be out summer this year. Which means early June to late August, most likely.
Control has you play as Jesse Faden as she becomes the Director of the Federal Bureau of Control. And now she needs to explore the organisation’s headquarters, The Oldest House, to find the answers of all the supernatural things going on in the building, which shapeshifts.
Also, Jesse has supernatural powers. Despite being called supernatural, Remedy is making the powers she can wield grounded to reality a bit. Just a bit.
So, Jesse has telekinesis-based powers that can lob objects or gather objects in one place to form a shield. The most outlandish one being shown is levitation.
If you like the weirdness of Alan Wake and wish the combat of Quantum Break (cover shooter with time powers) was a bit more open-ended then Control is shaping to be what you hoped for.
Control will be available for the PS4, PC (Steam) and Xbox One.
