Redfall Launches On May 2, New Gameplay Revealed

Arkane Austin showcased more of its upcoming shooter Redfall at the Xbox and Bethesda Developer Direct January 2023 today.

The presentation guides us on what to expect of the moment-to-moment gameplay, from exploring abandoned houses, to how you spec your characters and use their unique abilities.

There is no flashy cinematics here, and it plays like an open-world shooter would, with an Arkane twist. You can see flashes of that in the environmental storytelling, how you can approach an encounter in multiple ways, and how intimate the scale is. You’ll only be walking on foot while exploring the town of Redfall and fighting off vampires.

Also interesting to note that how the gameplay footage, as well as the overall messaging, is trying really hard to show that Redfall is completely playable solo, but you can play with up to three other friends in 4-player co-op.

Redfall launches on May 2 for PC (Steam, Microsoft Store) and Xbox Series X|S. It will also be coming to Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.
