Now this is an odd convenience, but a convenience nonetheless. Rockstar has added a few features to the Rockstar Social Club, its proprietary community feature for Red Dead Redemption II.
One is a given, photo sharing. Pictures snapped by playable character Arthur are uploaded to the Social Club and can be rated and shared with friends and communities there.
The other is the odd convenience we mentioned. It allows you to stock up on items so you’re ready to go on your adventures. It gives you access to the full catalogue from Wheeler & Rawson, the ones you see and open in shops in the game.
You can buy ammo, provisions, guns and even clothes (with preview options). The whole interface has all the features you expect from an online store like Amazon or Lazada. You can buy any of the items, even items still locked due to your current story progression. The items will be delivered straight into your inventory, and funds will be deducted once you boot up the game.
Log in to the Social Club here. Then go to Games, Red Dead Redemption 2, Catalogue.
Given the game’s obsessiveness in immersion, it’s odd to see an online store (justified as a “mail order”). But hey, it’s a convenience. Not all of the in-game shops stock the same items so it’s handy.
Red Dead Redemption II is out now on PS4 and Xbox One. We have a review coming up soon but in the meanwhile, you can read our first impressions here.
