Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 Out Now On PC With Rollback Netcode

SNK has announced, and released Real Bout Fatal Fury 2: The Newcomers on PC today. This title marks the first of SNK’s new NeoGeo Premium Selection label, a curated collection the brings back games originally released from the NeoGeo system with new features for new modern platforms.

Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 is a 2D fighting game not to be confused with Fatal Fury 2, this title was originally released in 1998 for the arcades. The Real Bout Fatal Fury games’ big innovation is the two-lane mechanic, though with this entry, the second lane has been turned into a dedicated “sway lane” used to avoid attacks. (The latest Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves still incorporates the multi-lane system, albeit only in specific stages.)

The game boasts 23 characters, the biggest roster Fatal Fury has to offer at the time which includes series mainstays Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui as well as newcomers including Li Xiangfei and Rick Strowd plus on hidden character.

Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 adds online functionality with new rollback netcode—a must for fighting games these days—nine-player lobbies, different tournament formats (single eliminations, the FGC classic double elimination and round robin are supported).

This release also now has Practice Mode, with all the modern tools from recording options to replicate an opponent movement to a hitbox viewer. In addition, a Gallery Mode is added as well.

Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 is now available on PC (Steam).
