Razer Reveals Thunderbolt 4 Dock Chroma- Turn Your Laptop Into A Desktop With Just One Cable

There are legit reasons why some folks would prefer the portablility of a laptop for their work or lifestyle. But what if there’s an easy way to turn it into a desktop, with needing to plug in all the many cables everytime to set it up?

That’s where laptop docks come in, and Razer just introduced their take of it: the Razer Thunderbolt 4 Dock Chroma. The dock houses all the connectivity you need for a desktop, all you need to do is just plug one plug from the dock to your laptop. Just one.

Not even the charger. It can charge your laptop at 90W through the USB Type-C connection.

The power of Thunderbolt 4 also ups the bandwidth to 40Gbps, which allows you to connect two 4K 60Hz monitors, or one 8K 30Hz monitor via USB Type-C. No HDMI ports, here.

Legacy Thunderbolt devices can also connect to the Razer Thunderbolt 4 Dock Chroma.

The Razer Thunderbolt 4 Dock Chroma has the following ports:

  • x4 USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4 ports (x3 back, x1 front)
  • Gigabit Ethernet port
  • 3.5mm audio combo jack
  • UHS-II SD card slot
  • x3 USB-A 2.3 Gen 2 ports

As typical of Razer, the dock also comes in RGB lighting, and can be connected with the Razer Synapse app for RGB customisation.

The Razer Thunderbolt 4 Dock Chroma is compatible with both PC and Mac laptops. It’s currently only available for pre-orders on Razer.com (and even then that’s already out of stock) so you probably need to wait a bit until it’s properly available worldwide. It’s priced at $329.99 USD (roughly RM1,343).
