At the September 2022 Ubisoft Forward, Ubisoft showcased a good chunk of new gameplay for Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope.
The sequel to the surprisingly great strategy-RPG featuring the cast from Nintendo’s Super Mario series and the Rabbids originally from the Rayman series goes to space this time, and the new gameplay shows the gang facing off the Wiggler as a boss fight.
The gameplay video also shows equippable Sparks that give characters game-changing passives, and more of the now free-form movement. And yes, Bowser is indeed part of the party.
But the bigger news is that Ubisoft finally remembers Rayman.
The publisher’s mascot platformer will join Mario, the Rabbids and the rest of the playable cast, but as a DLC character. The third DLC for the game, to be precise.
The Rabbids, initially a gang of villains from Rayman Raving Rabbids, has undoubtedly stolen the spotlight- just as those Minions in the Despicable Me movies have. So it’s nice to see Rayman back, even if as DLC.
There is no information yet for the first or second DLC, but you can expect the hero with floating hands and feet to be playable in the third of three DLCs that is part of the game’s season pass.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope will be out on October 20 only on Nintendo Switch.
