Radeon Graphics Cards Score The Best Results In DirectX12 VR Benchmark

Looks like team red is catching up. AMD has announced that their Radeon graphics cards have performed rather well on VRMark Cyan Room, a VR benchmarking tool utilising DirectX 12 exclusively.

The Radeon RX Vega 64 and RX Vega 56, the current higest performing cards offered by AMD, managed to beat Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1080 in both scores and FPS performance in VRMark Cyan Room. The lower tier but still formidable RX580 manage to beat the GeForce GTX 1060 by a big margin.

AMD is making strides to keep up with Nvidia by doing things differently, like focusing on low-level APIs and now with VR. Will it pay off? Time will tell, but at least we are seeing some competition for once.
