Psychonauts 2 Gets Its First Proper Trailer At The Game Awards

Unpack your emotional baggage

It’s been a long, long while since we heard anything public about Psychonauts 2. The sequel to the cult classic platformer filled with wacky fun comedy and dark undertones finally gets its first proper trailer.

The game launched its Fig campaign at The Game Awards back in 2015. 3 years later at the same event, we now get to see it all presented nicely in a trailer, recapping the events of Psychonauts and setting up for the sequel.

The quick setup is that Razputin found his way to join a summer camp that is actually training kids to be Psychonauts: agents that has mind powers and can enter the mind of someone else. He is now a certified Psychonaut, but his first mission he is being sent on is a dangerous one: finding the mole within the organisation.

Have a look at the trailer here:

The distinct artstyle of the first game (first released for the PS2) has charmingly carried over well into this new generation. And they don’t look that freaky, those proportions on the characters are out of the place, which lends to the charm.

Psychonauts 2 is set for release sometime in 2019 for the PS4, PC and Xbox One.
