PlayStation Asia has unveiled the local pricing for the recently-announced PS5 Pro, the mid-generation upgrade PS5 console releasing later this year.
In Malaysia, the PS5 Pro will retail at RM3,849.
For comparison, the current price of a PS5 “Slim” (with a disc drive) is at RM2,499. The PS5 Slim Digital Edition is at RM2,369.
The difference in price between the PS5 Slim (with disc drive and Digital Edition) and the PS5 Pro are RM1,350 and RM1,480 respectively. Quite the jump in price.
When the PS4 Pro was announced, it was priced at RM1,799 while the PS4 “Slim” at the time retailed at RM1,349, only a RM450 in price difference between the base console and the Pro version.
The PS5 Pro not only has enhanced graphics capabilities thanks to an improved GPU and the use of PlayStation’s own upscaling tech, it also comes in 2TB in storage.
The PS5 Pro does not come with a disc drive or a vertical stand. However, the disc drives, vertical stands and covers made for the PS5 Slim is compatible with the PS5 Pro, sold seperately.
The PS5 Pro will launch in Malaysia on November 7. You can find the PS5 in Malaysia at these participating retailers.
