PS Plus Getting Price Hike Just A Year After The Last One, Including In Southeast Asia

Just about a year since the last price increase to the PS Plus subscription, PlayStation is announcing another price hike.

The new prices will take effect on May 20. PlayStation cited “ongoing market conditions” for the revised price of PS Plus. Curiously, it only affects the 1-month and 3-month subscriptions. 12-month subscription prices remain as is.

PS Plus 2026 Price Hike: New Prices In Malaysia Beginning May 20

In Malaysia, the new price for PS Plus subscriptions are as follows:

PlayStation Plus Essential

  • 1 Month Subscription: RM35 -> RM39
  • 3-Month Subscription: RM95 -> RM99
  • 12-Month Subscription: RM285

PlayStation Plus Extra

  • 1 Month Subscription: RM49 -> RM55 -> RM59
  • 3-Month Subscription: RM125 -> RM155 -> RM159
  • 12-Month Subscription: RM490

PlayStation Plus Deluxe

  • 1 Month Subscription: RM65 -> RM69
  • 3-Month Subscription: RM185 -> RM189
  • 12-Month Subscription: RM575 

In short, PS Plus subscription prices in Malaysia has been raised by RM4 for each 1-month and 3-month subscriptions. 12-month subscription prices remain.

This is the second price hike to the PS Plus service in two years.

Meanwhile, competitor Xbox recently reduced its prices for Game Pass subscriptions reversing a previous price hike as a result.
