Looks like another Private Division game gets a reveal today, though this one we have heard for some time. Developers The Outsiders, based in Sweden and led by Andrew Goldfarb (of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Payday 2 fame), has been working on codename Project Wight.
Now the game gets an official name: Darkborn. Alongside that, there is 16 minutes worth of early gameplay footage being revealed on IGN and Game Informer. You play as a Darkborn, a lowly creature that slowly grows in power. But before that happens, you are a scrawny creature helpless against the Viking-looking humans that are capturing and murdering your kind.
Have a look:
As the gameplay progresses, the Darkborn gains more powers, enough to take on the Viking-looking humans referred to as The Pale with your claws and bites, to gory effect. The gameplay ends with a boss fight, which lists down several attributes you to be aware of ala Shadow Of Mordor, but not as systemic as that.
Darkborn is one of the four new IPs being published by Private Division which was announced during the label introduction. The others being Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds, Ancestors: The Humankind Odyessy by Panache Games and a still-unannounced new FPS game by V1 Interactive.
