Prepare For Titanfall- Titanfall 2’s Open Beta This Weekend

Titanfall was the premier FPS for the Xbox One that had sold the idea of a next-generation console. Aim-down-sights based shooter with ridiculous mobility, big mechs called Titans that can be summoned and piloted, NPC grunts to shoot about to make the battlefield more dense and easy pickings.

But Respawn Entertainment’s first game fizzled out immediately. The Xbox One did not sell as well as Sony’s PS4. Using the old method of DLC by charging for new maps and game modes split an already small community. Add the negative point of a $60 multiplayer-only title and Titanfall did not last long, despite picking up critical acclaim.

Titanfall 2 aims to fix all that, and will also be released for the PS4. Those who have yet to try its fast-paced shooting can now try out the open beta, or “Tech Test” as they like to call it.

This weekend will be the first round of a two weekend test, and is available for the Xbox One and PS4 (sorry, PC fans). The client will be available in respective online stores now.

For PS4 owners, here’s the link to the Playstation Store to download it. (Link is for Asia region)

Details of what is included in the beta, check out the link here. There’s basically four pilot abilities, two Titans, three game modes and maps, and six primary weapons to choose from.
