Predator Helios 500 Announced By Acer, A Core i9-Powered High-End Gaming Laptop

Acer expands its range of Predator gaming laptops by adding a new variant of the entry-level Helios line. The Predator Helios 500 is a beefier variant of the original Helios 300, but is aimed at a higher price point and packed with even more firepower.

Announced at the next@acer press conference at New York last night (local time),the 17.3-inch laptop has an option for a 4K monitor or an IPS with 144Hz refresh rate- both featuring Nvidia G-Sync, an Intel 8th-gen Core i9+, an overclockable Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 and a built-in subwoofer. The Helios 500 will also take advantage of Acer’s Aeroblade 3D fans for its cooling.

Interestingly, the Helios 500 is going for a black and blue colour scheme. The Predator Helios 300 is the last Predator product to have the black and red colour scheme, which is now relegated to the more affordable Nitro gaming line.

This should serve as a middle choice in-between the Helios 300 and the slim-but-powerful Triton 700, both in terms of power and pricing. The Helios 500 will be priced at $1,999USD (around RM7,961) and will be available in North America next month.

Stay tuned for more news of it when it will arrive here in Malaysia.
