For years gamers have to settle in with black coloured gaming laptops from OEMs with red LEDs, but we have slowly seen more diversity in colour choices available. And the next@acer press conference event at New York earlier late last night (local time) has shown more progress in this department by Acer.
Acer announced a refresh to its entry-level Predator gaming laptop (with a mid-tier level gaming specs) with the Predator Helios 300 Special Edition. The Special Edition comes in a new lick of paint- eschewing the black matte and light red glow of the original to a white with gold trimmings colour scheme. Aside from a new paint job, there’s a refresh in specs as well- the IPS monitor is now running up to 144Hz from the usual 60Hz,has an 8th Gen Intel Core i7+ instead of a 7th-gen, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 and 16GB of RAM.
In addition, an assortment of Predator-branded peripherals including mice, keyboards and headphones, will also be available in this new white and gold colour scheme.
No word on the pricing of the Predator Helios 300 just yet. For comparison, the original Helios 300 was sold for $1299 USD in North America and RM5,999 when it first launched here in Malaysia.
Expect to see more news whether this model will be out here in Malaysia soon.
