Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is the follow-up to Plants VS Zombies Garden Warfare 1 and 2, which took the tower defence game and turn it into a multiplayer shooter. Long-rumoured, it has only been announced now, and you can straight-away buy it.
There’s no teasers or anything, we straight up got the official gameplay trailer, detailing all the new stuff coming to the game. On both the Plants and Zombies side gets three new classes, with each side getting one that requires multiple people to control. Split-screen multiplayer up to three people is available for the PS4 and Xbox One versions.
Each of the classes can be customised in cosmetics, Free roam is back, now with new areas of Neighborville to explore.
Here’s the interesting part: Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is out on October 18th for the PS4, PC (Origin) and Xbox One. But you can buy one now as the Founder’s Edition. The Founder’s Edition is used for the developers to get feedback (but it’s not a beta- content is locked for launch already).
The Founder’s Edition also gives you six weeks of content drops, with the first four weeks including exclusive cosmetics.

But the biggest selling point for the Founder’s Edition is the price. If you buy now, you save $10 USD from the Standard and Deluxe Edition’s price. It’s kind of like Steam Early Access where some games can raise the price ahead of its full release- but again, Battle For Neighborville here is already ready for launch.
It’s a rather new and bold approach. While we would recommend waiting on impressions from streams or coverage by sites, it’s understandable for the more diehard fans to just get the game today, especially when it’s cheaper.
On PS Store Asia, it is priced at RM119.
