People Can Fly Are Now Restoring Wiped Outriders Gear

Outriders had a really nasty bug on launch, which caused some players to lose their inventory items. All that hard-earned and lucky drop of loot, poofed out of existence. A bad thing to see happen, especially so in a looter-shooter.

Players affected by it are understandably not happy. But good news is, developer People Can Fly has now started the rollout to restore the lost items.

As explained in the blog post on Steam, there are three groups of people that suffered from this awful bug: Group A (lost items, and can no longer login to the game due to “Couldn’t Connect To A Server” error), Group B (lost items, but carried on playing after that) and Group C (unaffected by the bug).

Group A players will be receiving all items that were equipped at the time of the inventory wipe. All legendary (gold) items are restored. And for non-Legendaries, the previous 20 items were restored, with Epic (blue) items prioritised.

For Group B players, you’ll get up to 20 of your lost legendaries back.

The devs can distinguish Group C players from Group B, so you may get back up to 20 legendary gear too.

The stats will unfortunately not be one-for-one, but the devs assured the restored legendaries will be god rolls- ones with desirable stats.

Note that should you have dismantled the legendary items, that won’t be restored. Items that have been dismantled are tracked server-side apparently.

The inventory restoration is being rolled out currently, so should you be one that was affected by this, give it some time. The blog post on Steam was posted on 12.04AM today (Malaysian time, +8GMT), and it’s expected that the rollout will be complete in 24 hours.

In addition, Outriders also received a big update last week, with tons of bug fixes. You can peruse the long patch notes for the update here.
