No Man’s Sky Latest Update Adds Fishing And More Watery Features

Abouot 10 years ago the gaming community at large was criticising indie developer Hello Games for overpromising their space game No Man’s Sky. And eight years since launch later, the developer, are still updating No Man’s Sky with new gameplay features and content. Despite them currently working on other new projects, the team is still updating this game. Hello Games can’t stop cooking.

Speaking of, anyone up for seafood?

Update 5.10, dubbed the Aquarius Update, adds fishing. Now you and your friends can go to a waterside spot (water was added in the previous game update, dubbed Worlds Part 1), put on bait, and just wait for the alien fishes to bite.

There’s plenty of fish to catch, bait to craft, and if fishing on the side of a lake isn’t your fancy, you can deploy an Exo-Skiff, a customisable platform that floats over water and has cold storage inventory designed for deep water fishing.

If fishing feels laborious, you can also set up an autonomous fishing farm.

There’s also a new Aquarius Expedition limited-time event, which tasks you to fish and fish some more.

So what do you do with all the fish? Cook ’em. There are new cooking recipes on offer which should entice you develop your cooking skills.

No Man’s Sky was the prime example of an overhyped game that promised too much back when it launched in 2016. But these days, it’s the prime example of the turnaround- a game that sucked at launch but become better and better through post-launch updates. It share a similar honour to Cyberpunk 2077, which fortunes turned for the better thanks to years of post-launch support.
