Seemingly out of nowhere, Square Enix announced sales for action-RPG Nier Automata has since passed 9 million copies.
This includes sales from digital downloads as well as physical copies shipped across the world.
Developed by PlatinumGames with Drakengard and Nier series Yoko Taro as director, the seminal post-apocalypse setting of a dark world was married with top-tier character action gameplay to great success.
Nier Automata is Gamer Malaya and Gamer Matters’ Game Of The Year for 2017, and is now available on PS4, PC (Steam), Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The game now has an anime adaptation, and recently made an appearance on Stellar Blade for a collaboration DLC.
