Next-Gen PS VR Successor In The Works For PS5

Sony has announced that it has plans for a new VR system coming to the PS5.

PSVR is compatible with the PS5 via backwards compatibility, but it carries along some quirks, like the need to request a specific adapter for the camera.

This new VR system, which Sony isn’t committing to a name yet (PSVR2?) will improve on the PSVR in many ways and will work with the PS5. Some of the new promised features are:

  • Increased resolution and field of view
  • Better tracking and input
  • One-cord setup
  • New VR controller, which will incorporate features from the PS5 DualSense controller
  • Better ergonomics

We have no name, no image, and certainly no release date (don’t expect this to release anytime this year). But what the PlayStation Blog says is that Sony continues to commit to VR in this new console generation.
