Back in October last year, Square Enix released Voice Of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars, a card-based RPG by Yoko Taro (the fabled creator of the Nier series). Four months later, there’s a new Voice Of Cards game coming, about ten days from the time of writing.
Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden is a new entry to the Voice Of Cards series, but it’s not billed as a sequel. Rather, it’s its own standalone title featuring a new story but the same storytelling style of using cards. But not just as a turn-based gameplay mechanic. The entire world is rendered in the form of various tiles of cards
Yoko Taro is still leading the project as creative director, with music by Keiichi Okabe and character designed by Kimihiko Fujisaka.
In Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden, the world is set on a remote chain of islands protected by Maidens. This has been true for generations, but now you have to save these people on a voyage together with Laty, “a girl who failed to become a maiden”, the namesake of the title.

Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden is set to be released on February 17 for the PS4, PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch. For Asia, the Steam release will be one day later on February 18. Somehow, February keeps getting busier with new game releases.
