New PS5 Update Now Live – Dolby Atmos, New Accessibility Features And More

A new PS5 software update has gone live today, rolling out globally. This update adds the features previously announced that was being beta tested, which is now ready to go for everyone.

This includes the following features:

  • Accessibility – Second Controller for Assistance (co-pilot)
  • Accessibility – System UI Haptic Feedback
  • Support for Dolby Atmos devices
  • Party UI update
  • Share Screen Preview
  • Join a friend’s game session easily
  • Game Hub tournaments tile
  • Emoji reactions in messages
  • Search bar in Game Library
  • Game Help improvements
  • Mute PS5 beeps
  • Support for up to 8TB M.2 SSDs (previously 4TB max)

In addition, the new PS5 update extends support for PS Remote Play to be streamed on Android TV OS 12 devices. The PS App on mobile devices is also updated.
