Hotta Studio’s upcoming free-to-play “urban open-world RPG” Neverness To Everness had a short trailer played on Opening Night Live 2025. But this ambitious game about just about everything (not to be confused with Ananta, also an urban open world free-to-play about just about everything) did leave a impression, especially for car fans yearning for an arcade racer.
There are short snippets of this anime game where you see a character posing with a fictitious supercar, with graphics overlay appearing. There’s also the start sequence of a street race, also seen stylised graffiti overlaid on top of the anime art style. One character grew wings.
Yeah, that’s quite the homage to Need For Speed Unbound. EA and Criterion’s latest (and now on ice) racing game was first leaked as having a specific graphic art style some would describe as anime-esque, which turns out to be sort-of true (it’s stylised, but you won’t mistaken it for a gacha game by how it looks). And here we are, an anime game inspired by a racing game that was inspired by stylised graphics.
This car-centric angle is only half of the trailer, as it quickly reminds everyone it’s one of those games, with the character-action-adjacent arena fights and spectacles.
Neverness To Everness has no release date but it’s coming to PS5, PC, iOS and Android.
