EA Sports and Codemasters’ upcoming F1 23 game gets a new deep dive video trailer, showcasing the major points of improvement to this year’s annual F1 game.
The video shows some footage of the two new tracks to join the 2023 F1 calendar, Las Vegas Street Circuit in Nevada, USA and Losail Internation Circuit, Doha, Qatar.
Both tracks will host their grand prix under the lights. Both circuits were created using photogrammetry data.
For Las Vegas, being a street track which will debut in the game ahead of the actual race later this year, the developer used thousands of reference photos to replicate the Vegas strip and other locations the street circuit drives around.
Meanwhile, for Losail, the devs have access to ArcGIS World Atlas aerial imagery, official CAD design from Formula One Management and height data to accurately replicate the circuit, which has signed a 10-year deal to appear on the F1 calendar starting this year.
The video, the first of two parts, narrated by Natalie Pinkham (a voice fans of F1 that follows the coverage of Sky Sports F1 should be familiar) talked through the physics and handling changes, how red flags work, the new 35% race distance option and the “Precision Drive” controls for controller users.
The next part of the deep dive video is expected to drop one week from now on May 19.
F1 23 will be out on June 16 for the PS4, PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, EA App), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
