New Dune: Awakening Video Has A Survival Expert Share Useful Survival Tips In Arrakis

Dune: Awakening, the game developed by Funcom inspired by Frank Herbert’s novel and the films by Legendary Entertainment, sure wants to let you know it has survival mechanics.

The game previously referred to as an open world MMO game features will see you surviving in the harsh lands of Arrakis. And to give it some credence, Chief Survival Instructor for the British Military John Hudson is brought in to give his thoughts about the world of Dune: Awakening, and share his survival experience in the deserts of Earth.

The 10-minute feature gives an insight of how the real deserts can have rocky features (which the game has), how to deal with heat stroke, how to navigate in a desert, and other interesting tidbits.

Think of this one of those Expert Reacts to a Video Game type of video, but directly produced by a developer for their video game.

After a full release on PC last year, Dune: Awakening will be launching on consoles later this month alongside a full single-player campaign. Hence, why the devs are now calling the game an open world survival game, rather than an MMO. Though there are still multiplayer elements with not only public servers, but also private and self-run servers available on PC.

Dune: Awakening launches on September 22 for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
