PS5-console exclusive Deathloop gets a new trailer showcased at the February 2021 State Of Play broadcast.
The third gameplay trailer is both a highlight of the many abilities you can use in this timeloop immersive sim, and a great way to sell on its 60’s spy flick aesthetic via a new original song: Déjà Vu by Sencit feat. FJØRA.
It definitely screams James Bond. Take a look at the trailer here:
The trailer also reveals another Visionary: “Ramblin’” Frank Spicer, a DJ that actively taunts our hero Colt to break the timeloop (by killing all eight Visionaries in one playthrough). Everybody on Blackreef is in on the timeloop except for Colt.
The abilities showcase should remind you a lot of Dishonored. This is game by the Dishonored 2 team, after all. Colt can cloak himself to be invisible, has a short teleport ability and can throw enemies in the air.
Julianna, the one Visionary that actively hunts you (and can be controlled by another player) can also shapeshift into an NPC. Or so it seems.
Deathloop looks to be mighty fine for now. Hopefully the promise of the timeloop gameplay can match its glorious aesthetic choice.
Deathloop releases on May 21 for the PS5 and PC (Steam).
