New ASUS TUF FX505 And FX705 Gaming Laptops Pair Up AMD Ryzen APU With Nvidia GTX 1660Ti

Many hardware manufacturers are announcing their 2019 gaming laptop refreshes this week, as Nvidia finally revealed its Turing-powered GTX 16-Series GPUs are coming to laptops. But ASUS is taking an interesting step compared to the other hardware manufacturers.

Instead of using the new 9th-gen Intel Core, the new ASUS TUF FX505 and FX705 gaming laptops will be utilising the second-gen AMD Ryzen APUs, codenamed Picasso. It will come in either the Ryzen 5 3550H or Ryzen 7 3750H.

As for the GPU, it will be using the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660Ti.

So far, we don’t have specific specs for the variants to be made available in Malaysia, availability or the pricing, yet. But we do know that it should have familiar bells and whistles, like military-grade toughness, and can come with 1TB of Seagate Firecuda SSHD.

We’ll update back when we hear more of the new ASUS TUF FX505 and FX705 refresh. But still, the pairing of an AMD APU with an Nvidia GPU on a laptop is interesting to see.
