Sony San Diego Studios have reveal the first trailer for their upcoming installment of the long-running sports series, MLB The Show 26, which is dropping in a month’s time.
The trailer showcase further enhancement on its ShowTech Gameplay mechanics, which now includes Bear Down Pitching (more narrower throwing) and Big Zone Hitting (bigger area to hit the balls). Its Road To The Show (ROTS) career mode now starts all the way from High School for those wanting to roleplay the bottom to the top journey, and even its Franchise (aka Manager) mode gets more in-depth with a revamped Trade Experience.
There’s also new Stadiums, which includes the iconic Tokyo Dome stadium, home to the Tokyo Giants and is part of their multiplayer Diamond Dynasty mode for the World Baseball Classic tournament, sorta like the baseball equivalent of the FIFA World Cup, where all the Nations teams will be represented.
The game will also still be launching on the original Nintendo Switch, and props to the dev team to make it as optimized to run it on this decades old system, all the while the successor is already out.
MLB The Show 26 is set to launch on March 17 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
