Here’s a big curveball we didn’t expect. MLB The Show 21 will be coming to Xbox Game Pass when it launches on April 20.
That’s MLB The Show 21, developed by San Diego Studio, a PlayStation Studio first-party dev, will be launching a game on Xbox Game Pass, on launch.
Or another way to look at it, Xbox players can play a game made by PlayStation on Game Pass on launch. They can get the game without paying extra from the subscription they are paying monthly for the game, whereas on PS4 and PS5, you have to pay full price.
It’s already a landmark move that Sony is willing to play ball and launch MLB The Show to other platforms. But this is quite the swing, going outside their park.
The Xbox versions are not technically published by Sony, it’s MLB themselves that are on publishing duties. It’s quite the coup for Microsoft in getting the baseball sim into Xbox Game Pass.
