Minecraft On PS4 Gets Cross-Play Thanks To Bedrock Version, Gets New Disc Release

The wall has fallen. Minecraft now supports cross-platform play on all platforms that are using the current Bedrock version. This includes the PS4, which has received the Bedrock version today.

For existing owners of Minecraft PS4 Edition, there should be a new client for Minecraft, the Bedrock version, added to your account free of charge, replacing the depreciated version.

The new change comes with a new release bundle. You can now get Minecraft Starter Collection that includes the base game (Bedrock version) alongside these in-game items:

  • 700 PS4 Tokens
  • Minecraft Skin Pack 1
  • Greek Mythology Mash-up
  • Minecraft City Texture Pack
  • LittleBigPlanet Mashup Pack

Minecraft Starter Collection is available today on PS Store Asia for RM129. There will also a disc version of Minecraft Starter Collection, for the same price, with the same bonuses. That will be out on December 16th.
