Minecraft Is Getting New Biomes In The Nether, And Bees

NOT THE BEES

Minecon happened last weekend, and with it comes a slew of announcements for everything Minecraft. There are a lot of announcements for new things outside of the original Minecraft game, but for those that play the sandbox game, there’s new content to come.

The biggest deal is that there will be new biomes in the Nether. The hellish landscape will be getting some variety with three new biomes: Soulsand Valley, Netherwart Forest Red and Netherwart Forest Blue. The first is wasteland covered in blue fog, blue flames and gigantic fossils. The latter are lush forests designed to make it easy to get lost in.

This will all come in the Nether Update, coming soon. This update will also include new mobs- the Piglins, a new Redstone target block that triggers by shooting an arrow to it and more ways to interact with the Nether, including being able to build a base, find food and actually respawn in the Nether.

Outside of the Nether Update, Minecraft will be adding bees. The bees first appeared in a snapshot update for Minecraft Java, and it is confirmed to be coming to both Java and Bedrock versions of the game soon. Alongside the bees are new honey blocks that will indeed be sticky and slow you down should you walk on it.

There’s more reason to check out Minecraft again soon. Other than the RTX update for PC.
