Malaysia’s Todak Studios, developers of ToGather:Island and Police Sentri, have revealed its latest title in development for mobile: Mastra.
Mastra is a 5v5 multiplayer game where characters have unique abilities that can be synergised with the right team composition.
The game is inspired by the culture and history of the Sundaland region i.e. the region that covers modern-day Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and parts of Indonesia and Thailand. Essentially, a very specific part of Southeast Asia.
Here’s a blurb from the press release:
Transport yourself to the awe-inspiring realm of 7th century Sundaland, where Mastra unfolds in the era of mighty warriors, mystical forces, and epic battles. At the epicenter lies the legendary city of Kataha, forged in the crucible of countless wars, now the hallowed ground for formidable warriors. Here, warriors intertwine with the mystical Sakka, unlocking elemental abilities that transform fight into epic battles.
Mastra is planned to be released in Q4 2024, so there’s still a long way to go to until we see this new game, that may or may not be a MOBA, coming to mobile.
