Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition Includes Remaster Of The PS4 Original For PS5

We finally got to see some gameplay of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, a launch title for the PS5 at the recent PS5 showcase stream. And it definitely looks similar to the Insomniac’s 2018 game, now with a different flavour thanks to a new protagonist and story setup.

The other interesting detail revealed afterwards on the PlayStation Blog was the editions Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The Ultimate Edition, which costs $20 USD more at $69.99 USD, will include a download code for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered.

This remaster is described as a “no simple up-res, as many of the game’s art assets have been completely updated to take advantage of the PS5 console’s horsepower”. The PS5 version of Spider-Man PS4 will include better character models, better facial animaiton, ray-traced reflections and ambient shadows, better lighting, and further draw distance. It also can be played at 60fps.

However, it’s unclear at the moment that will this be offered as a free upgrade for owners of the original Spider-Man. It seems unlikely- given that it’s also going to have separate trophy list to the original, and you have to pay extra for it to get it on PS5 anyway.

In any case, the new Spider-Man: Miles Morales will actually release on PS4 as well as PS5, and has been confirmed to offer free next-gen upgrade.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (and Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered included in the Ultimate Edition) will be out on PS4 and PS5 on PS5 launch day (September 19 for most of the world including Malaysia).
