The Lords Of The Fallen series will definitely increment the number in their sequels with the third title in the series, Lords Of The Fallen II, with a new trailer debuting gameplay revealed during the 2025 The Game Awards.
Publisher and developer CI Games first revealed the sequel to Lords Of The Fallen (2023)—which at one time was called The Lords Of The Fallen and before that, Lords Of The Fallen II—back in Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025 last August.
This time we get to see gameplay footage, showing its more visceral take on soulslike action-RPG combat (refreshingly, the press release and all official marketing describes the game as a soulslike). Maybe not quite in-game gameplay, a lot of cinematic angles are used here, but should in some ways represent what to expect.
Three different bosses are showcased here. Any soulslikes worth the subgenre moniker is only as good as the boss fights, and do look to have good variety. And boy do they bleed, with dismembering being a feature.
If the song sounds rather familiar, it is. It’s a cover of Pet Shop Boys’ It’s A Sin, performed by rock band Ghost. Given Lords Of The Fallen II’s dark, fantastical yet churchy aesthetic, it’s quite the fit. It’s been a trend with video game trailers in 2025 featuring licensed music, sometimes covered or remixed? We’ve seen from Elden Ring: Nightreign to Battlefield 6 doing this.
Lords Of The Fallen II is set 1,000 years after the events of Lords Of The Fallen (2023), with the promise of “bolder world design, faster and more unforgiving combat, and a deeper bestiary of enemies and bosses.”
Lords Of The Fallen II, which some search engines still redirect to Lords Of The Fallen (2023) at the time of writing, will be running on Unreal Engine 5 and will feature full co-op play. For the soulslikers, this the Seamless Co-Op mod as a built-in feature: you can play with a friend from start to finish.
Lords Of The Fallen II will be out sometime in 2026 on PS5, PC (only on Epic Games Store at launch) and Xbox Series X|S.
