Logitech G announced the arrival of the Logitech G Powerplay 2 “wireless charging system” in Malaysia.
This is essentially a mouse pad. But the real product that you’re paying for is the wireless mouse charging tech that sits between the rather uneventful black mouse pad. This tech uses “low-frequency electromagnetic field” enabled by a little module that links to the mouse pad, as well as what’s called the “Powerplay 2 Charging Coin” to be attached to a compatible Logitech G mouse.
This isn’t a charging station or dock. The Powerplay 2 charges the wireless mouse as long as it makes contact with the mouse pad, even while in active use.
The Powerplay 2 needs to be plugged in via USB-A port, and it’s compatible with Windows PCs and Mac systems.
This eliminates the problem of running out of battery juice mid-game, a set-and-forget solution at that. But you’ll need to shell out RM499 for it, and you’ll also need to already be using a compatible Logitech G mice. Though Logitech G promises that future mice from their product line will be compatible with Powerplay 2, so the list of compatible devices will grow over time.
