SNK has dropped another Neo Geo classic onto PC via Steam with the release of Kizuna Encounter: Super Tag Battle.
The 2D fighting game, sequel to Savage Reign, originally released in 1996 and has received some modern re-releases. But this release is part of the new Neo Geo Premium Collection label, joining Real Bout 2: Fatal Fury.
Kizuna Encounter brings a different style of fighting game, with it being a 2V2 tag game, featuring 10 characters plus 2 playable bosses.
The new release adds more modern features, including rollback netcode (a must-have in fighting games these days for optimal online gameplay), a lobby system for up to 9 players, matches that can be played with 4 players (each controller a character—something only available on select arcade cabinets back then), improved Practice mode with hitbox viewers plus an integrated jukebox and achievements.
Kizuna Encounter: Super Tag Battle is out now on PC (Steam).
