Shadow Of The Tomb Raider is out now, in case you missed it. The third game of the rebooted trilogy sees Lara Croft trying to stop a Mayan apocalypse from happening, which triggered due to her own tomb raiding habits. Whoops.
Now one month after release, this major AAA title has received its first discount, 34% off. In Malaysia, it is now RM157.08.
Discounts are a great way to entice more people to take a look and buy games, but having a discount this soon has brought ire to many early adopters that they are now review bombing the game, dropping the rating to Mixed. The majority of the “not-recommended” reviews popped up on October 16th, the same time the sales begun.

Given that a lot of marketing from AAA games as major as Shadow Of The Tomb Raider focus on pre-ordering games to entice early adopters, the discount seemed mistimed. The numbers of negative reviews during the sale is around the hundreds, not that many in the grand scheme of things, but it still is enough to raise attention.
Shadow Of The Tomb Raider is out now on the PS4, PC and Xbox One.
