Indie devs Chucklefish announced a new game at the May 2022 Indie World Showcase, Wildfrost.
Wildfrost is a roguelike deckbuilder, akin to Slay The Spire, where you build a deck of cards to beat a series of randomised encounters.
The world has fallen to the titular Wildfrost, and it’s up to you to make the journey to the Sun Temple to get rid of the blizzard storm which has wiped most of the world.
Wildfrost lets you pick a leader, based from a variety of different tribes that confers randomised stats and skills, and there’s a counter mechanic that lets you bite back immediately after a hit. And you can expect to get new cards that opens up new strategies or potentially synergies, and a way to get rid of unneeded cards to keep your deck lean.
Wildfrost is expected to launch in Winter 2022 (very end of the year) for PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch
