Indie Jam is back for its second year. Organised by The Magic Rain, Indie Jam is a community-driven event celebrating Southeast Asian indie games and the region’s burgeoning games industry.
Indie Jam 2024 will be held from November 16-17 at Xsolla Curine Academy, KL Eco City, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and is free entry to everyone.
Indie Jam 2024 will have the Southeast Asian Indie Games Showcase where attendees can sample upcoming games and demos from developers across Southeast Asia, including games made by students. Attendees can win prizes from the Stamp Rally from just going through the showcase area and play games.

For those curious about the games industry, there will be Industry Panels and talks hosted by game devs, creators and media.
These inside baseball talks are usually hosted in paid events, so it’s an opportunity for anyone interested to hear from industry people sharing their experience in the field, especially aspiring game developers. The speakers will also address the current pressing issues of the global games industry.

And it’s not Indie Jam without an actual game jam, the art of rapidly making a game prototype. The Student Game Jam begins a week before Indie Jam kicks off proper, as students work together as a team to develop and pitch their games. The Student Game Jam begins on November 9 with a pitching workshop hosted by Xsolla Curine Academy.
The game jam lasts for a week, and final games will be showcased at the event for attendees to vote, and for judges from local game studios to assess. The winner of the Student Game Jam takes account the score from judges as well as public votes, with the prize being a full scholarship for a 1 -year course at Xsolla Curine Academy.
Student Game Jam judging and presentation will happen on November 17, 2.30 PM. The prize-giving ceremony will be held later at 5.30 PM.
